Welcome to Ufa!

We’d been really looking forward to seeing our fluffy friend William in the city of Ufa and there came that long-awaited day!

On September 10^th William the Rabbit eventually met the X-Files fandom of Ufa. Coincidentally that date is considered as a really significant day for each X-Files fan all over the world. As on September 10, 1993 the pilot episode of the science fiction television series “The X-Files” (by the way, you know, it has the same title “Pilot”) aired on TV and since that time our “fan” fate has been actually determined by the fact. What is more, on that particular day Mulder and Scully began their long journey full of adventures. And our meeting with William the Rabbit is also one of the expected consequences of this very day, “the birthday” of “The X-Files”.

And now we would like to tell you everything one by one. We had already started to organize the meeting in August just as we finally found out the day when our little buddy was arriving in our place. It was when our first “small” meeting, we had already written about, took place. On that day we sketched together an action plan of the coming event and started getting ready for it. Our wish was to do everything as good as it gets and by all means.

Well, on September 10^th we gathered together at the time and place fixed. There were five of us on this particular day: Renat Biglov, Lyaysan Pavlova, Ekaterina Yablochkina, Irina Enikeeva and Sofya Chekhova.

We’d also like to highlight, Irina came to our meeting from the town of Oktyabrsky that is 180 km far from Ufa. Irina, you’re our real hero! And, of course, we are glad to meet Sofya. By the way, girls have decided to follow in the footsteps of Scully and have chosen their careers in the medical field.

Our meeting started in the city center that is not just a geographical but also tourist, educational and business heart of our place. And this is actually the Monument to Salavat Yulaev, which can be possibly considered as an architectural landmark of Ufa. By the way, he is a national hero of the Republic of Bashkortostan and is depicted on the coat of arms of Bashkortostan. We were also so lucky with the weather.The morning rain had finished by noon, it cleared up and the sun shone, so we managed to take many wonderful pictures of William the Rabbit against the background of amenities of Ufa (and its beautiful girlsJ).

In the pictures taken during this photo walk we did our best to express all the national colors of our Republic. These national symbols, we are always proud of, are Bashkir honey, national costumes and a marten, that is a symbol of Ufa. And we really hope William’s adventures in Ufa are going to be exciting not only for our little buddy but also for all readers of the following report.

First, William had a chance to drive a bumper-car in the park not far from the monument. Then we went down to an observation deck on the bank of the river Belaya to get a little rest and to talk to each other. Every meeting attendee was recruited by the regional office of the X-Files fandom in Ufa and got a FBI certificate. Everything he/she needs is to paste his/her personal photo to it and to fill in his/her name. Of course, we did not forget about the symbolic character of the date and for a while we tried to take parts of the main characters of the series, which are Mulder, Scully, Skinner and The Lone Gunmen. We did it in a festive atmosphere with bright balloons, being in a really good mood.

Having bought picture postcards and souvenirs for our fluffy friend, all the meeting attendees went to a cat café to treat themselves to a delicious birthday cake. In this theme café we were given a hospitable welcome by a little Bashkir beauty, who had made a special treat for William, that is a Bashkir national dish called Chak-Chak (it’s a kind of sweet treat and it’s made of  traditional products – flour, eggs, butter and honey). We spent a couple of hours in the very friendly atmosphere of this cozy café. William the Rabbit had enough time to meet all the inhabitants of the cat café and to make friends with them, while we shared our impressions and emotions with each other.

Almost imperceptibly the evening came. We saw Irina off at the bus station. Please, come visit us again, Irina! We are always glad to see you here! Soon after, having gathered a “reduced crew” of the X-Files fandom of Ufa, we went to play a board game “The X-Puzzle”, trying to solve all the puzzles on Mulder’s wall. The day appeared to be really eventful and emotional because we had both joy of meeting and pain of parting. But the most important result of our meeting is the fact, that we are all together! All of us are members of a big worldwide fan family of the X-Files!

ДЕНЬ 1

Мы очень ждали зайку к нам в гости, и вот это день настал! 10 сентября состоялась встреча уфимских фанатов с Уильямом.
И так совпало, что этот день является знаковым для всего мира Секретных материалов. Ведь именно 10 сентября 1993 года на киноэкраны вышел Пилот, и наша судьба как фанатов была определена. Именно в этот день начался долгий путь, полный приключений. И встреча с Уиллом, – это еще одно следствие того самого первого дня, – Дня рождения The X Files.
Ну а теперь обо всем по порядку.
Планировать встречу мы начали еще в августе, когда стала известна дата прибытия зайчика в Уфу. Тогда и состоялась наша первая маленькая «сходка», о которой уже писали. В тот день мы набросали план мероприятия, и началась наша подготовка к этому событию. Все хотелось сделать идеально, куда уж без этого.

В назначенное время в назначенном месте мы собрались: Ренат Биглов, Ляйсан Павлова, Екатерина Яблочкина, Ирина Еникеева и Софья Чехова.
Отдельно хотим отметить Ирину, ведь она приехала к нам из г. Октябрьский, что находится в 180 км от Уфы. Иринка – ты наш герой!
И конечно, безумно рады знакомству с Софьей.
Кстати, девушки пошли по стопам Даны Скалли, и связали свою профессиональную деятельность с медициной.
Встреча началась в самом центре города, не только географическом, но и туристическом, образовательном и деловом. Пожалуй, это визитная карточка Уфы – памятник Салавату Юлаеву. Нам повезло с погодой. Утренний ливень к обеду сменился солнцем, и мы смогли сделать много красивых фотографий малыша Уилла на фоне уфимских красот (и красоток).
Мы постарались отразить весь национальный колорит в этой фотосъемке. Все, чем мы гордимся, – это и башкирский мед, и наши сладости, и национальные костюмы, и символ Уфы – куница. И очень надеемся, что это путешествие станет увлекательным не только для зайки, но и для всех наших читателей.
В парке у памятника Уилл покатался на машинках.
Чуть позже мы спустились на смотровую площадку на берегу реки Белая, чтобы немного передохнуть и пообщаться.
Все участники встречи были завербованы в уфимское отделение фан-клуба Секретных материалов, и им были выданы удостоверения агентов ФБР, куда необходимо вклеить свое фото и вписать имя, и они станут персональными.
Также не забывая о символичности даты, мы примерили на себя образы всех ключевых героев – Скалли, Малдера, Скиннера, Курильщика и Одиноких стрелков, – в праздничной обстановке с яркими шариками и радостным настроением.
После покупки сувениров и открыток наша дружная компания отправилась в кошачье королевство, чтобы угоститься именинным тортом.
В котокафе нас ждала наша маленькая башкирская красавица, которая приготовила для Уильяма особое угощение – национальное башкирское блюдо «Чак-чак».
В уютной теплой атмосфере кафе пролетело несколько часов. За это время Уилл успел познакомиться и подружиться с обитателями «Котейной», а мы делились эмоциями и впечатлениями.
Совсем незаметно наступил вечер. Мы проводили Ирину на автобус: Ирина, обязательно приезжай к нам еще! Всегда тебе тут рады! – и уже слегка поредевшей компанией отправились разгадывать стену Малдера в настольной игре «Икс-пазлс».
День выдался очень насыщенным и эмоциональным. Это и радость от встречи, и грусть от расставания. Но мы вместе – и это главное! Мы все – одна большая семья фанатов Секретных материалов.
